Part of trip to Romania and Slovakia this coming weekend.
First Lady Jill Biden’s office said Monday that she is scheduled to visit Romania and Slovakia from May 5-9. While there, the first lady will meet with embassy workers and U.S. service members, as well as refugees displaced from the Russian attack on Ukraine. For Mother’s Day on Sunday, Mrs. Biden will have a special meeting with mothers and children who have fled Ukraine, speaking with them about how the situation has impacted the role of motherhood.
The schedule takes the first lady through Constanza and Bucharest in Romania before stopping off in the Slovakian cities of Bratislava, Kosice, and Vysne Nemecke. The first lady has been involved in the refugee crisis caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and this trip is the latest effort of her work with European officials to aid in the care of Ukrainian people.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the first lady to be an encouragement and comfort to the mothers and women who have fled Ukraine.
- For the first lady and her team to be discerning as she meets with foreign heads of state and U.S. troops.
